exposure via the letterbox. Its a very over looked advertising strategy which always work very well, that is ofcourse is using leaflet distributors

If your product is made to attract to a nationwide market place and you want to focus on a very special field, door to door campaigning is a good, inexpensive way of getting hold of your target market place.

But careful in the planning of your leaflet distribution causes as this is fundamental if you are to make the most of your investment.

One of the most common purposes of brochure drops is to provide individuals with data to counterpunch information that has been distributed by the opposition. The brochures can also be utilised to threaten people with an attack. This is especially likely in engagements in which regular armies can inform opposition parades that they will invade if no follow up action is made. The Man With The “Grasshopper Mind”

Filed under: Ads — admin @ 7:58 am

The title of this article also happens to be one of the “20 Greatest Headlines Ever Written.”

Did you know, just changing the headline has been known to dramatically improve the effectiveness of an ad or sales letter by up to 1700 percent? Yes, headlines are that powerful–and that important!

However, over the last few years, I’ve noticed a proliferation of badly written–or just plain weak headlines–both online and off!

Particularly disturbing is the copycat syndrome. I can’t even begin to tell you how many variations I’ve seen of the “Who Else” headline. For example:

“Who Else Wants To Write Great Headlines?”

By the way, the “Who Else” headline isn’t new. It goes back many decades.

Here’s the problem with copying a popular headline. When you have so many individuals copying a headline, it loses its effectiveness, appeal and uniqueness very quickly–especially on the Internet!

I have a much better alternative. Instead of copying someone else’s headline, put in the hard work that’s required and come up with your own classic headline.

Headlines that evoke some type of emotional response are the most effective and generally make more sales. Emotions motivate people into action. The stronger the emotion, the quicker the action. Therefore, headlines that make the reader excited about gaining something–or even more effective–afraid of losing something, will invariably produce the best results.

Using the proper words and phrases is critical. Below I’ve listed just a few of the words and phrases that, over the years, have proven to be very effective at grabbing the readers attention:

Save… Amazing… Finally… Love… Secrets Of… Announcing… Free… Luxury… Security… At Last… New… Bargains… Obsession… Breakthrough… Protect… The Truth About… Discover… How To… Rewards… Yes… Sale… You… Are You… Sex… Win… Improve… Do You…

After grabbing your readers attention, this is where you want to answer the question, “What’s in it for me?” To do this, you have to know a little about your target audience. What are they interested in? What are their priorities? What makes them respond?

Craft your headlines to use words and phrases that will pique your potential buyers interest. If you are targeting people interested in starting their own home business, try phrases such as “Stay Home And Make Money” or “Kiss Your Job Goodbye Forever”. If your product happens to be diet pills, try “Lose 10 Pounds In 10 Days”.

A word of caution: There is a point where headlines tend to get unbelievable. Make sure that your claims are truthful and that your copy supports their truthfulness.

Once you have a firm grasp of the aforementioned basics, look around your house and select several different products, and write as many headlines as you can think of for each product.

Write variations of the same headline until you have exhausted all the ideas you can think of. This will be both frustrating and difficult at first, but it will become easier with practice. Remember, nothing worthwhile ever comes easy.

After you have your list of headlines, make sure each one passes the test for the following criteria for a good headline. 1. Does it grab the readers attention? 2. Does it answer the question, “What’s in it for me?” 3. Is it truthful? If a potential headline does not meet these three criteria, rewrite it or eliminate it from your list altogether.

Continue using the process of elimination, one headline at a time, until you’re left with what you feel are the three best and strongest headlines, based on the criteria presented in this article.

How will you know which headline is the best one overall?

Unfortunately, there’s no way to know for sure until you test them against each other. The headline that pulls the most sales or responses is your winner!

To help you get the creative juices flowing, I’ve listed below my version of “The 20 Greatest Headlines Ever Written,”. I’ve listed them in my own personal order of preference. Study them, dissect them, figure out what makes them great–then get to work writing your own. Enjoy!

As Seen On TV - Infomercial Products

Filed under: Ads — admin @ 5:53 am

Infomercials have been around for along time. Have you ever caught yourself glued to the TV watching and listening to information on a new TV product? We have all seen these ads and I am sure most of us have some of these products in our homes. I know I have several. Wow, will that really clean my floors and make them look new again? Use water to steam away all those germs. Only five minutes a day and you will lose weight! How can you not want to try these products? Only $19.99 or 5 easy installments of $29.99.

A number of celebrities endorse these products. One product that has been around for awhile is The Thighmaster endorsed by Suzanne Somers. She also endorses other exercise machines such as torso track, beauty products and even appliances. Suzanne has made a real impression in infomercial world.

Celebrities definitely help these products to sell. These are people we can relate to and if they are endorsing a product and putting their name to the infomercial product it must be worth buying, right?

Some infomercial products have turned the spokesperson like Ron Popeil into a celebrity. Most people know who he is. When I hear his name “Set It and Forget It” comes to mind. Get rid of that fat from your foods and walk away while your food cooks. I have one of his rotisserie and I have to admit I love it! The food comes out real moist and tasty. Ron has come out with a whole line of helpful kitchen products.

George Foreman also got into “Get Rid Of The Fat” products. I also have his George Forman grill which is awesome for making sandwiches, hamburgers, cooking bacon and I find it easy to clean. It seems every year he perfects his product with a new line.

I do like infomercials and get easily drawn in. Sure some are just ridiculous gadgets that we really do not need and just end up in the back of the closet after a few uses. What about the products that you see advertised all the time and have been around for awhile? They must be living up to their ad and do what they say if some many people are still purchasing.

Television is a very powerful way to advertise a product and have it endorse by a celebrity and the product can become an instant hit. The internet has become another tool for advertising these products. The web makes it even easier for us to purchase. If you walked into the tail end of an infomercial you can find out more about it online. Do a search for the product name and you should be able to find it on the web. You can even find sites that have short clips of the product in action. What will be the hot As Seen On TV Product this year????

Easel Does It!

Filed under: Ads — admin @ 5:12 am

The easel aside from the palette and the brush is the most important equipment an artist can have. Easels provide the backbone for the painting process.

It may seem as if it only serves to hold the canvas, but in fact, no self-respecting artist will start a project without one, unless, of course, he is working on a different medium such as walls and murals.

The easel is an upright apparatus that is usually held up by three legs (tripod). It is generally used to display or hold canvas.

Easel comes from the old Germanic word for donkey. Ironic enough, this language only had one word for both objects. The Easel is called esel in full German and ezel in the Dutch language. Actually, easel as an apparatus goes by the full name schildersezel, which means ‘painter’s donkey.’

The easel works by providing a tripod that can be manipulated to obtain a desired angle when painting. For example, if you choice of angle is the watercolor angle, which is 35, then the easel can be made to tilt in to that angle.

Prices for easels vary. The type of easel you choose depends on how you would like to paint. Always choose one that fits your needs.

Nevertheless, the construct of your easel should be sturdy enough to endure the wear and tear of use. Brass, steel, or aluminum easels are recommended. Wood easels are the classic standards. However, after some time of use, wooden easels tend to show signs of aging and tear.

Table-Top Easels

This type of easel is small, compact, foldable, and easily used. Unfortunately, its lack of bulk means it cannot be counted upon for stability. Also its size makes it inconvenient to use if you enjoy painting standing up.

It isn’t ideal for outdoor paintings because its size does not allow for versatility. Only small canvases can fit on this type of easel. However, if you enjoy small scale painting, this easel is for you.

Sketchbox or Paintbox Easels

This is the all in one easel since it has a container box to store your supplies in. It isn’t that stable either but it makes for a great beginners easel. It is very much like the table-top easel. Beginners usually buy this type of easel.

French Easel

The French easels are the do-it-all easels. They contain a sketchbox, an easel, and a canvas carrier. This is one of the most versatile easels around. The French easel’s build allows it to be folded up in a hurry, and since it can carry your canvas and supplies as well, you only end up carrying one bag.

Sketching, Portable, and Display Easels

These types of easels are very portable and very handy. You can use them to paint or to display paintings. The only downside to them is that they tend to be a little wobbly due to its lack of weight. However, this type of easel is best for outdoor painting.

Studio Easels

Studio easels are big and can accommodate large canvases. They are floor standing fixtures that are renowned for their stability and durability. They are not portable, though.

These easels are sought after by professional artists. These easels are pricey, and heavy. But if you are dead set on painting professionally or on working on large canvasses, this is the easel for you.

Choosing a proper easel is a very important step in enjoying painting as a job or as a hobby. Choosing the wrong one could inconvenience you or make you feel uncomfortable. It would do well to take sometime to consider which easel best suits you.

Japanese Tanto Swords: Decorative or Battle Ready

Filed under: Ads — admin @ 11:32 am

Here are a few qualities to look for in a quality tanto sword. We suggest battle ready swords over wall hangers. Why, because the quality will always be better on a battle ready tanto sword than one that’s just for show. If a sword is to be used to cutting exercises it absolutely has have a blade that is full tang and have a blade that is made from high carbon steel or Sweedish folded steel.

If the blade is not made from at high carbon forged steel or folded steel then it’s most likely just stainless steel. Stainless steel is just fine for most knives but just won’t cut it (no pun intended) when it comes to a tanto sword that’s going to be used in the dojo.

Two very popular brands of tanto swords are Paul Chen and Cold Steel. Cold Steel, although an American company has most of their swords forged in China by trained smiths. Paul Chen blades are very popular in American and all over the world right now. Most of the Paul Chen swords are forged using a technique called differential tempering. It means that the back of the blade is more flexible than the edge of the blade.

At Japanese Swords 4 Samurai we have a wide selection Japanese Tanto Swords, many of which are battle ready sharpened swords. Check out our store at http://www.japaneseswords4samurai.com/

Per Click - Do They Know Something We Don’t?

Filed under: Ads — admin @ 10:50 am

I have utilized pay-per-click (PPC) advertising since its inception about two years ago. With PPC, the advertiser is only charged when a person actually clicks on their link. The amount you actually pay for each click is referred to as the cost-per-click (CPC). I’ve got to admit, I was pretty leery at first. But since then I’ve watched the price of certain search engine keywords skyrocket in excess of $10 per click! The big question isn’t how much it costs per click but how many clicks does it take to get an acquisition. I’ve often asked myself, why would so many companies pay that much money for one single, measly, push of the index finger? The answer is simple - it just works!

HOW TO JUSTIFY $10 PER CLICK

The advent of PPC advertising has changed Internet marketing forever. It represents a free market in much the same way as eBay — controlled by a natural supply and demand relationship. For a keyword phrase such as “debt consolidation,” the top five advertisers are willing to pay cost-per-click charges of $10.01, $10.00, $9.99, $7.00, and $6.97. My first reaction was, something has to be wrong with this picture - it just can’t be! So I looked at the “life insurance” phrase, where the top five range from $7.00 to $3.50. Then there are drugs like “Xenical” that range from $6.76 to $6.74. There are many more examples where the cost-per-click exceeds $6.00, $7.00, or $10.00, but you get the point.

The fact of the matter is that while PPC advertising can work quite well - it can also be a flat out failure. When companies are willing to pay more than $5.00 per click, you can be pretty certain that they have figured out how to make it work - otherwise they wouldn’t pay those prices.

THE SELECT FEW

I have seen many situations where PPC will work for one company but not for another in the same industry, using the same keywords. Large and small companies will venture in, bid for a week or two, and then drop out — never to be heard from again. Some will come in, drive the prices way up then drop back out to obscurity. The select few who are successful have found the secret — a combination of patience, determination, creativity, keyword selection, management and analysis. They do the math, every day - they manage the bids, every day - they look for new keywords, every day - they analyze the results, every day. It takes a great deal of work to figure out how to make PPC advertising deliver results, and the ones who have are now benefiting - every day.

WHAT IS THE COST OF AN ACQUISITION?

In order to determine if your PPC advertising is justified, the first thing you need to understand is your current acquisition cost - what does it now cost to acquire a new customer or order? It’s amazing how few companies know what their cost of acquisition is. To keep it simple, take your total advertising expenditures and divide it by the number of new acquisitions (orders or customers), that should give you a rough estimate of your cost per acquisition. Similarly, after running a PPC campaign for a month, you take the total advertising expenditures divided by the number of acquisitions. Of course, these raw numbers are not burdened by administrative costs, but they still provide an apples-versus-apples comparison.

I have managed PPC campaigns where the average cost-per-click was $0.40 and others where it was $5.00. The key question remains: how many clicks does it take to get an acquisition? If the cost for each click is $0.40 and it takes 200 clicks for an acquisition, then the acquisition cost is $80.00. If the cost for each click is $5.00 and it takes 10 clicks, the cost of the acquisition is $50.00.

FINDING THE GAPS

Two key points are crucial: (1) how much does it cost to get an Internet acquisition compared to traditional methods? and (2) what is the value of a new customer? In some businesses a new customer is worth $1,000, while in others, only $10. Typically, the cost-per-click reflects this value, but since the market is still very small, there are significant gaps. Remember the “debt consolidation” keyword phrase above? The difference between the first and last cost-per-click was about 30%. On the other hand, there is literally no difference between cost-per-click rates for the keyword “Xenical”. From this you may conclude that there is a lot more competition for “Xenical” then there is for “debt consolidation”. The opportunity is between the gaps in the 30% differential example.

The bidding market for keywords is still so new and untapped that it’s rare to have more than three competitors fighting over a specific phrase. The gaps in keyword cost-per-click charges such as “debt consolidation” are the norm and represent tremendous opportunities still available in this media. Right now they are plentiful, and for those few people who take the time to understand this important marketing tool, the time to act is NOW!

Web Site Promotion Services Companies

Filed under: Ads — admin @ 10:00 am

A great deal of your success in business lies in your promotional strategy. Thus, if you want to effectively achieve your goals in business, you must be willing to invest time, efforts and resources for this alone. However, it does not follow that you should do the legwork yourself. You can seek for the help of certain companies that specialize in promotion, particularly in advertising.

Web site promotion service companies are among the most sought after companies in the advertising industry today. They are soon to take the place of newspapers and television companies that traditionally provide advertising services. Analysts predict that online advertisements will make up four percent of the whole U.S ad market in 2006.

Everyday, the World Wide Web expands by more than a million Web pages and this heightens the competition among advertisers. Web site promotion companies help you gain the greatest advantage over other Web sites by delivering the most targeted traffic to your site.

What does targeted traffic mean? Consider this: two major search engines in the United States approximately receive 35 million visitors everyday; however, not all of these people may be looking for your site or may be able to locate your site. Those specific site users whose needs and wants specially match your products and services are your targeted traffic. They are potential buyers who can give you more profit and at the same time can benefit from your products and services.

A lot of Web advertising companies nowadays offer a complete solution to your advertising needs. Basic services include search engine and online directory submission, Web linking, search engine optimization and viral marketing.

Simple search engine, directory and classified ads site submission service can cost about $9 monthly or a one-time fee of $30 to $280. Prices depend on the number of search engines and directories where your site is immediately submitted, re-submission of your site, the number of URLs submitted and the additional services you avail of such as monthly reporting of submissions.

Aside from offering traditional Web site promotion services, some also offer services such as Web site analysis, which involves review of your Web sites and your competitors’ strategies, ranking efficiency, and Web site design.

Proofreading and copywriting services are also among the most useful additional services offered by Web site promotion companies. Since the content of the site is vital to your rankings, they need to be properly written notwithstanding the need to have a lot of essential keywords.

Whatever promotional service it is that you choose, it is important to entrust your advertising efforts to a reliable and efficient company. The company’s experience is the best gauge you can use to determine the right one.

Tips for Gift Baskets

Filed under: Ads — admin @ 6:48 pm

Gift Baskets for Men

Here are a few quick ideas for creating a gift basket that any man would appreciate. Keeping in mind that just about every guy on the face of the earth likes sports, beer and food, one could assume stuffing a gift basket full of these things would please any man. Grab a couple tickets for the guy’s favorite team; pick up some mixed nuts, some good beef jerky, and a little bottle of Jack Daniels or a couple bottles of his favorite beer. If you really want to go all out you can throw in any of these as well; baking, chocolate, coupons, lottery tickets, concert tickets, movies, cds, video games, gift certificates, jewelry, golf gloves or other sports related gifts. The easiest way to find the perfect gift for a man is to think like a man!

Gift Baskets for Women

Gifting for women is just about as easy as gifting for men. There are tons of things women like such as, concerts, musicals, plays, romance novels, spa and salon packages, soups, bubble baths, lotions, magazines, massages, cds, wine, jewelry, movies, gift certificates, clothing, and lingerie, just to name a few. The trick to creating the perfect gift basket is to be unique. Little things like buying a centerpiece type glass bowl and using that for the basket will score you extra points for sure.

Gift Baskets for Kids

Kids are so easy to please. Giving a gift basket to a child is a fun idea. Most people don’t think of it, but kids love getting a big basket full of goodies! Then again, who doesn’t? The idea is to target the age group and shop for it. What a kid likes when he or she is 3 years old will contrast what they enjoy playing with when they’re 5. Some kids like going to the zoo, so a few tickets and a promise to go take them to the zoo is a great basket stuffer. Stay way from things like candy, clothing (and alcohol). Once again remember to get creative, and remember, kids are easy to please!
