The Meaning of Consequence

Filed under: Teaching + Training — admin @ 11:07 pm

Few know the meaning of consequence. Those of us who do are responsible for those who do not know consequence. Many words can go without consequence and many should. Many words, dependant upon who they come from, need consequence. One cannot justify their argument by claiming themselves to be a victim when the evidence proves otherwise.

Rarely, with the elementary playground excluded, do people get singled out and treated poorly by an infinite number of people. If a number of peoples experiences with one person indicate that said person is one thing or another, chances are that the person truly is guilty of such convictions.

A flaw with convictions:

As said above, a person may be guilty of something - but it is not a conviction until someone has convinced the person of error or has compelled the admission of a truth.

One may say that there is no consequence for what I say. To that I need to respond with: what consequence do I deserve other that which I have served for not speaking these words that should have been spoken when YOUR crime was first committed? The only crime that I am hereby guilty of is stupidity. I have allowed myself to be used while you portray yourself as a kind and loving yet abused person. You are a manipulative. Your truths are only truth to you because your lies which you have spread so vigorously have come back to you. You now believe your own lies to be true.

When life is handed to you and all that you call your own has come to you with no sweat or blood of your own being exhausted, how can I expect that you would be able to understand what I am trying to put forth in an attempt to make you understand where I am coming from? But then, how can you expect ME to understand where you’re coming from. How can I empathize with you? I have had to deal with disappointments far beyond anything that life has ever presented to you. I have learned to work past the kinks and avoid the large bumps. You get hung up on a strand of hair that falls before your path.

I fear for you. I fear what will happen when reality strikes you.

Representation of Female “Figure and Character” in Art and Literature of Pakistan

Filed under: Teaching + Training — admin @ 11:02 pm

Female figure has always been in the limelight in the works of artists and authors, who commented on the society, collective Psyche and behavioral changes through gradual evaluation of centuries. First in Subcontinent and subsequently in Pakistan, due to great influence of Hindu Mythology women have been depicted either as goddesses or witches, in accordance to their relationship to the class they abode in.

In Pakistan, Art & Literature depicted woman as the tragic icon. In 1947, during cruel process of genocide she became the target of violence, all this changed the concept of her personality, and during each freedom movement she had to endure all the consequences.

In Art, Ustad Allah Baksh, in his mystic, supernatural and metaphysical paintings like Talism-e-Hoshruba, portrayed women as angels, fairies or witches. Afterwards under the mixed influence of Art and Literary movements, Realism, Romanticism, Expressionism, Impressionism, Symbolism, Cubism, and Humanism, woman became the symbol of glamour and sensuality. Shakir Ali’s abstract approach towards nature and beauty made his treatment of presenting female figure simple but very rangy, both in terms of apparent sketch as well as the inner meanings. The sharp edges of his brush presented the balance and beauty of figure, influenced by distortions, felt and absorbed. Whereas Sadeqain explored this enchanting manifesto through his “Pen N’ Ink” technique while presenting nudes with all the essential details, even of less beautiful or non beautiful parts of female figure, but it is hard to find any character in those drawings on the contrary to Sadeqain’s male figure based paintings and drawings.

Later Iqbal Hussain portrayed her, sitting in the posture full of elegance, romanticism and temptation. In Saeed Akhtar’s work we find a woman with elegant and snobbish look. Rahat depicted her with soft touch of innocence. Collin David and Jamil Naqsh focused on the centuries old tradition in art “THE NUDES”, which was a dare step in society like Pakistan where it was not acceptable openly. Collin David explored the female figure as the symbol of beauty and presented ‘woman as woman’ with all her subtlety and femininity, while Naqsh was a bit ambiguous in his approach, adopted a hazy expression that was, due to its un clear expression, more sensuous.

On the other hand just after partition Saadat Hassan Manto, Asmat Chugtai, Bano Qudsia, and Qurat-ul-Ain Haider presented her as victim of sexual assault and violence. In Bano Qudsia’s work we find woman’s struggle and internal conflict, how she survives in the social setup. Hajra Masroor and Khadija Mastoor highlighted the problems faced by middle class woman, injustice and inequity faced by ordinary woman, encroachment upon their rights. Different shades of her personality conveyed through ’stream of consciousness’ technique by Qurat_ul_Ain Haider. In the work of above mentioned writers and artists, we become familiar with the emotional and sentimental picture of traditional female figure, her confrontation with society, changes in behavior due to unequal socioeconomic status.

In Parveen Shakir’s poetry we find a subtle image of woman with all feminine emotions and qualities. All these painters and writers tried to lay a foundation and give a direction to their successors. Female figure being a strong character in different ways, in a society gives birth to new dimensions in Art and Literature.

I want to disclose the hidden realities and socio-economic, emotional and psychological facts that caused writers and painters to capture feminist values.

In our society the role of women is essential in all cultural and social activities, none of our rituals is complete without female character, folk songs are sung and expressed by women, moreover, she is expressed through her dance.

The little innocent daughter or younger sister is an epitome of affection, love and care, while the young girl of our society is to remain modest and noble in all means, so she is the center of all concerns by her parents and this concern, in our society is the cause of many traditional subjects of our art and literature. Young woman’s body has been described in detail even in our mystic poetry as Waris Shah in his narrative piece of poetry (Heer) did. While the painters and sculptors found the female shape and contours, the universal phenomena to understand and express the real sense of beauty, apart from that external value, the sentiments of a women, being a tender character in our society, always have attraction to feel, observe and express, so, the outer shape as a figure and the inner quality as a character always inspired artists and writers to ponder on a women, even more than needed.

The bridal activities start from woman and end on her as well as she is the center of attraction in this festival, while the groom is a silent figure who just has to sit idle in all the activities, his mother, sisters and afterwards his wife’s sisters and friends are active in all the rituals connecting to a wedding ceremony. Being the most wanted and awaited ceremony in our folk culture, and the only platform for folk women to express their artistic qualities, wedding becomes a vital source of cultural information regarding women character.

Same is the case in funeral procession in our society, male are responsible just to burry the dead body accordingly while female characters as mother, sister, daughter and wife are the core characters to enhance the element of sorrow and pain through a dare, open and above board expression of mourning. In our art, it is not very obvious but the grief and sorrow has been painted through female portraits without any detail of circumstances while literature has got its very base for mourning songs (Marsia) through women’s voice. The pain of dear departed as son, brother or husband is always depicted in literature through women’s expression and feelings. Moreover, all the rituals regarding deaths directly influence female of our society like widow has to go through (Iddat) after the death of her husband, avoid color clothes in connection with century old Hindu tradition that has influenced our society a lot.

My proposal basically reaches out to reveal social, economical, cultural, and ritual factors and reasons that make our female figure and character prominent and its influence on our society. This research will discuss and disclose the restraints and barriers those are in common practice in society but broken through art and literature regarding women. The research will go a long way into the roots of our concepts that are pruned by religion, ethics, myths, media and education through a process of century old evaluation and the shape we are into, in twenty first century. It will also enable us to analyze our status in the modern multi-culture or global culture scenario.

The Geothermal Advantage

Filed under: Best Home Improvement, Science Hub — admin @ 1:52 pm

When the seasons are changing, and cold air is beginning to enter your comfort zone of warmth; you know it is time to prepare your home for the winter, including those drafts coming through windows and under doors.

You realize that it is time to add new weather stripping and change the filter on your 50-year-old furnace to try and save some money on your heating bill. Yet no matter what you do, as you go about doubling up your sweaters and long sleeve shirts, and no matter how many heavy blankets you pile on the bed at night to feel cozy without having to spend extra money to be warm, it is going to happen anyway. You are going to be bombarded with high heating bills for about 4-5 months, or how ever long cold weather sticks around where you live.

Your utility company has already warned you, letting you know what to expect and when it is going to happen. I guess it is their way of easing into winter and adding high fuel costs to your kilowatt usage, before you even start to regulate your thermostat. They might have made this big announcement to prepare you way back in August.

Even if you sleep in front of your stove without turning your furnace on, or if you sleep in front of your living room log fireplace, if you have one, this will not keep you from seeing a higher gas bill this winter, as it is already regulated, already estimated, already predicted, and already in the making that consumers, rich or poor, homeowners and business owners alike, are going to be reaching deeper into their pockets to meet the elevated cost of heating.

This is happening because consumers are caught up in this maze of economic dependency on their local utility company’s power grid, which brings gas and electricity to their homes and businesses, instead of relying on solar energy, which is cheap and affordable. In fact, most often solar energy is free! So why are you paying extra to heat or cool your homes when you don’t have to? This is something you should be pondering; especially since there is a way to draw energy for heat from a solar device.
Solar geothermal systems can bring heat into your home.

Retired Bus Driver’s Harrowing Night of Fear - An Excerpt from the Novel “A Dancing Bear”

Filed under: Teaching + Training — admin @ 11:41 pm

It was at approximately this moment that Jack Durack conceived his intention to shoot his visitor dead. He had long been a firm believer in a man’s right to defend himself with deadly force in his own home, or if necessary on his own front doorstep. And if this individual did not deserve to have deadly force applied to him, Jack Durack did not know what individual did. For starters, he had knocked on Durack’s door in the dead of night while wearing a balaclava. Then he had identified himself — falsely, in Durack’s view — as an escaped psychopath. Then he had asked for a cigarette when he was already smoking one. Out in his back shed, Jack Durack kept a number of fully loaded and carefully maintained firearms with which to shoot dead individuals of precisely this kind. The only trick was getting the individual to stay put on the doorstep somehow while he went back and got one, and returned to the front door with it, and shot the individual dead in the chest with it at point-blank range.

Withdrawing his unshaken hand, the individual tried a new approach. He asked Jack Durack if he had the time. Jack Durack declined to furnish an answer. He had already observed that the individual was wearing, was in fact looking at even now, an apparently functioning wrist-watch. Durack’s intention to shoot him dead at point-blank range firmed. The only trick was getting him to stay put somehow while he adjourned to the back shed.

The individual now proceeded to offer a third story. He stated that his vehicle had run out of petrol just down the road, and asked if he might telephone for help from the interior of Durack’s house. Durack replied that this would not be necessary, as he happened to have some petrol and a siphon out in his back shed. The individual replied that his vehicle required premium petrol and therefore he had better come in and make the phone call anyway. Durack retorted that the petrol out in his back shed was premium. The individual shifted from foot to foot and said he would just as soon come in and use the phone anyway, if that was okay with the old man.

But Jack Durack, sixty-seven, adamantly stood his ground. By now he had become aware of suspicious occurrences out on his nature strip. A fiery red dot kept glowing intermittently through his hedge, suggesting that a cigarette was being smoked by someone crouching on the other side of it. Furthermore, a strange grunting noise could be heard emanating from the same area, akin to the sound of an inebriated young male choking on withheld laughter.

On this basis Jack Durack formed the view that a second individual was present out on his nature strip, hiding behind his hedge. He resolved to gun down this individual too. He resolved to shoot him dead through the hedge as soon as he’d finished shooting the first individual dead at point-blank range in the chest on the doorstep. He planned to excuse himself from the front door very soon and hasten back to his cache of fully loaded firearms. He would return not only with a loaded double-barrelled shotgun but also with a substantial number of additional shells, in case one or both individuals failed to die instantly as a result of taking one barrel each to the chest area.

Now the individual on the doorstep made a series of crude attempts to lure Jack Durack out onto the nature strip. He asked if Durack would prefer to continue the conversation out under a streetlight. Durack cannily declined. Then the individual offered to show Durack where his broken-down automobile was. Durack provisionally agreed to accompany him to it, stipulating that he would first need to obtain his reading glasses from his back shed. The individual replied to the effect that he happened to have a spare pair out in his car. Durack said okay, but in order to get all the way out there he would need to go and fetch his walking stick. The individual offered to carry him out there. As this exchange proceeded, further bursts of stifled male laughter could distinctly be heard issuing from the hedge area.

By now the individual on the doorstep had started to behave in a decidedly erratic fashion. He was repeatedly seen to be looking at his wristwatch, making a further mockery of his earlier claim not to have the time. He appeared increasingly agitated. Jack Durack decided that the application of deadly force to the individual’s chest area could be put off no longer.

Fishing Tackle Guidelines

Filed under: Fish + Angle — admin @ 8:29 am

Fishing can be an extremely enjoyable and relaxing adventure. As long as you have the right tools, the fishing safety knowledge, and a little bit of support from friends or family, you could perform your fishing successfully.

However, the most overlooked factor in buying equipments is choosing the right fishing tackle. You should follow these simple guidelines in the selection of tackles.

1) You should choose the appropriate fishing flies that you would be using to catch the kind of fish you will be targeting to seize. The basic rule in choosing the kind of fly is to know which is abundant in that actual environment.

2) Once you have determined which fly to use, you should be able to choose the appropriate line to use. The three commonly used tackles are fly-fishing, plug casting and spinning. The difference between the three is that spinning and plug-casting makes use of bait as weight to drag the line from its reel to the target point of your fishing.

3) Fly lines come in four different types - weight-forward, double taper, shooting-taper and level taper. Within the four different types are numerous variations. However, once you have decided what kind of fishing wish to accomplish and what kind of fish you wish to catch, you will be using only a particular fishing line.

The fishing lines have numbers that rank from one to fifteen. However, the most common among anglers are the lines numbered from three to twelve in weight. As a basic rule for optimum catching, the first thirty feet of your line should be weighted and matched to the rod.

4) The next thing you should purchase is the rod and reel. The most suitable equipment for beginners is the spin-casting gears that is easy to operate and provides the least setbacks. For any kind of fishing, the recommended spin-casting reel is mounted on a light-action six-foot casting rod and spooled with an eight-pound test line. The reel and rod could be purchased as a package in many fishing stores. Most professional anglers prefer bait-casting and spinning tackle.

5) You would need sinkers, hooks and bobbers. Sinkers and hooks could be bought in different pack with different styles and sizes. When selecting bobbers, always keep in mind that the smaller the bobber, the better the performance. The struggling of the fish would depend on the size of your bobber.

6) Professional anglers prefer artificial lures. The recommended sizes of lures are 1/8 ounce up to ounce.

Remember that the kind of tackle would depend on the fish you prefer to catch. Avoid buying unnecessary fishing items and enjoy your affordable fishing experience.

Lake Okeechobee: A True Florida Bass Fishing Paradise

Filed under: Fish + Angle — admin @ 5:46 am

Okeechobee is a Seminole Indian word meaning “great water cannot see other side”. True to its name, Lake Okeechobee is 748 square miles in size. It is the greatest provider of drinking water for south Florida, averaging 13-19 feet in depth.

Lake Okeechobee is renowned internationally for its fishing for bass and other species. It is located northeast of Naples, less than 2 hours away, and is heavily ringed with tackle shops, marinas, motels, restaurants, etc. You can find rental boats, gears and lodging to make your bass fishing trip more convenient and comfortable.

Lake Okeechobee also means ‘big water’ to the Seminole Indians, it is the second largest freshwater lake in the United States after Lake Michigan and its fishing reputation matches its size. Much of the lake’s 730 square miles or 450,000 acres are hidden from view by dyke, levee, or trees which screen the shore.

Lake Okeechobee has a 150 mile circumference and its invisible opposite shore is more than 30 miles away. The best fishing and more than half of the action, takes place along the lake’s western shore where Calhoun’s Guide Service is based.

Lake Okeechobee comprises a 730 square-mile area in Glades, Okeechobee, Martin, Palm Beach, and Hendry Counties its average depth is 9 feet with a maximum depth of 17 feet. Recharge comes from precipitation and southward flow of water from the Kissimmee River. Historically, hydro pattern flowed southward over millions of acres.

Lake Okeechobee offers all types of waterway structures to fish - from open water to narrow canals surrounded by hundreds of different vegetations and grasses.

Lake Okeechobee is located in central southern Florida, north of the Everglades and south of Orlando. Lake Okeechobee links the Atlantic and Gulf sides of Florida via the Port Mayaca Lock on the east side of the lake and the Moore Haven Lock on the lake’s western side.

Drainage canals lower the lake and drain adjacent lands for farming. Agricultural activities around the Lake Okeechobee area include cattle ranching, dairy farming, and crop production of sugarcane, winter vegetables, citrus, sod, sweet corn and rice.

Lake Okeechobee fishing is well-known not only throughout the U.S. but the whole world. Haw hunter guide service has clients who come from all over the world, including Japan and Europe, just to fish Lake Okeechobee with the best of them.

The lake is approximately 37 miles long by 30 miles wide, with an average depth of only 10 feet. To fishermen nationwide, it’s renowned for the number of bass it contains per acre and that it also produces more bass over 7 pounds than any lake in Florida and the United States.

Lake Okeechobee, located in Central Florida, is the most famous big bass fishing lake in the country. For many years, Lake Okeechobee has produced the best largemouth bass, blue gill and speck fishing in the world.

Hoover Dike was constructed along the southern regions of Lake Okeechobee to prevent flooding while also yielding year-round crop production. Tory mucks of the region contain 50 per cent or more mineral matter by weight and have considerably more native fertility than saw grass mucks, which were formed under logographic conditions. The 1950s was a period of technological ambition and construction, a system of canals, dikes, and pumping stations were installed to distribute water to the Everglades Agricultural Areas from Lake Okeechobee

Lake Okeechobee provides trips and tours all conducted by highly trained and efficient guides. They know the movement of the fish and their feeding patterns which gives you the best advantage over the fish and landing the lanker of a lifetime. Their cordial manner and willingness to help you enjoy your day on the water is genuine. Whether you want to book a corporate trip, take a youngster fishing for the first time, or have special needs, they there to help.

Fishing at Lake Okeechobee for Bass from late fall to early spring is when Crappie and Bass Fishing at Lake Okeechobee is at its best. Success comes when using large wild shiners or artificial lures of all types. If you want to target a true monster size bass, fishing at Lake Okeechobee is certainly the way to go.

The “Goofiest” Of All Fishing Trips

Filed under: Fish + Angle — admin @ 9:05 am

There are a lot of places in this world where one can go to find solace, peace and tranquility while wetting a line for fish.

Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida is not the first place that comes to mind.

Nonetheless, right there beneath the shadow of the Magic Kingdom, amongst wide-eyed roller coaster riders, a stones throw from Tinkerbell’s safety harness, exists one of the prime Largemouth Bass fishing waters you will find anywhere.

Remote? No.

Pristine? Hardly.

Filled with hungry fat Largemouth Bass….YES!!

I’m not really sure what compelled me to book a two hour Disney Bass fishing adventure.

I don’t know if I was curious that possibly a rather large mouse might show up at the dock with a fishing vest full of sponsor patches, and a big wad of chew between his cheek and gum. Or, if mechanical alligators might raise up out of the water- jaws agape-while I reached down to pick up my bass by the lips. Or, if perhaps cannonballs might be landing dangerously close to the boat as we all sang yo-ho yo- ho a fisherman’s life for me….

Or maybe, just maybe, after wandering around the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and MGM for four days, bouncing off of an endless stream of six year olds with attached parents in tow, eating space burgers, frontier burgers,Yeti burgers, and trying to figure out how to amuse myself in line for 60 minutes while waiting to have the POOH scared out of me…..maybe, just maybe I thought that I might just find a few hours away from the hustle, bustle and silent freakish stares of Chip and Dale.

I must admit, as we were making plans for a family trip to the mother of all amusement parks, I had spotted this fishing adventure on the Disney website. As my wife locked us in for five days of “Disney Magic”, I writhed in agony wondering just how many princesses there must be if it takes five days to see them.My six year old daughter was obviously thrilled.

Being a card carrying member of the “I want to go fishing club”, I figured this may be my only opportunity to sneak in some fishing on this trip. And if you have ever looked at a map of the Orlando area, you will see that this is an abundant area of lakes, not to mention short drives to the coastal areas and ocean fishing galore. In other words it was killing me, knowing how close to great fishing I was–but unless they had trout swimming along the waterways of Splash Mountain–I was never going to see any of them.

So, after the third day of posing for pictures with oversized rodents, dragons, and perky princesses, I called the Disney central reservation line for “active fun”-as if screaming and doing isometric hand grips on Expedition Everest, or ogling Pocahontas is not considered active fun!- and booked a bass fishing trip for the next morning. Evidently, the line and waiting period for the “largemouth bass ride” is not nearly as long as the wait for Peter Pan, because the nice girl (I think it may have been Cinderella) was able to get us a fishing trip out of the Contemporary Hotel Marina with no problem.

Didn’t even have to get a FastPass!!

Best of all, we didn’t have to get up early. We were scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

Like all Disney events and productions, great attention to detail and planning is done to insure the perfect family experience. That is why catch and release is the practice on Seven Seas lagoon and Bay lake, (the two primary fishing waters at Walt Disney World) and probably a big reason for the reliable fishery.

AND like all Disney adventures and productions, the perfect family experience has it’s price.

$230.00 for two hours of fishing!

That’s a lotta rubber worms.

In fairness, that is the rental of the boat and the boat can handle up to five fishermen(four if they are wearing mouse ears.) so really you technically can get it under fifty bucks a person.

AND like all Disney events-it was well worth the price to see the excited look on my daughters face when I told her we were gonna catch us ” a messa bass”.

Most of the guides showed up at the marina a few minutes early and looked like they had part time roles on The Animal Planet. The boats were spotless, fully equipped and ready to go. Since there were three of us and we had a “little one” on board, we were given a pontoon type boat rather than a bass boat.

I expected Steve the crocodile hunter to be our guide for the day,but as it turned out our guide was to be a lovely lady by the name of Holly.

Guess Goofy had the day off.

After quick introductions we were on board our Tracker and on our way.

Now, for those of you that have read any previous articles I have written, you will quickly realize that I was going fishing with three members of the “e-factor” estrogen fishing society. If you are not familiar with this secret society, let’s just say that I had about as much of a chance of outfishing these ladies as getting a date with Ariel or Snow White.

As we motored our way out of the natural waters of Bay lake and into the man made Seven Seas lagoon, Holly, a veteran of over twenty years in the Disney corporation, gave us some interesting facts on her background with Disney World. Having spent the first part of her career with Disney in “guest relations” she had mainly handled “guest” complaints, so the fishing guide position she had held for the last eight years was a welcome relief. She had grown up in Louisiana fishing for bass, and she was well qualified for obviously one of the most coveted positions that the 70,000 or so folks on the Disney World payroll could have. Spending your day out on the water away from the crowds certainly seemed a better tour of duty, than trying to manipulate a pen with oversized paws inside a large fur coat in 90 degree weather.

But that’s just me.

We motored on by the big ferry boat loaded with another group of guests ready for a d-day like assault on the Magic Kingdom, and pulled up to the shallows near an island. I knew I would have to catch my fish early on, before the “estrogen” effect would occur and I would be relegated to camera duty.

Even though catch and release is the practice on these waters, live bait is still the bait of choice. Being a steelhead and salmon fisherman from Oregon I was unfamiliar with the little “shiners” that they use down south to produce the big bass, but as if on cue, within a minute of tossing the little fellar into the drink I had my first largemouth on–and it was a nice one too!

I hoisted a chubby four pound bass onto the boat, and as I grabbed him by the “largemouth” I made sure he was real, and not some animatronic Disney bass that was about to break into a chorus of “You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog”.

Pretty soon Sara, my daughter, had her first bass on and mom was right behind her with her first bass.

Dang, the estrogen had kicked in early.

As promised, Disney had already delivered a great family experience and since most of the fish caught by my daughter had been crappie sized fish out of her Grandpa’s pond, the look of excitement that Sara had on her face when she hoisted her first largemouth bass was well worth the price of admission.

We each caught several more bass with the biggest running close to five pounds.

Sara, like any six year old, quickly lost interest in the labor involved with catching fish, and turned her interest to the “shiners” swimming in the live well.

I guess you might say she took a shine to ‘em!! HA!

Anyway, she became are unofficial “shiner” go-fer, and kept the little fish in shape, by chasing them around trying to catch them with her bare hands.

After a short dry spell, we headed off to other “pristine” waters. This spot happened to be at the ferry landing, where all the people line up for the d-day assault.Under the watchful eyes of hundreds of Disney patrons and a couple of Herons and Egrets, we went bass fishing. After landing another big chubby in front of the bored line sitters, they all let out a loud cheer and like the shy fella I am, I hoisted my trophy like I had just won Bassmaster’s $10,000 first prize on ESPN.

Unfortunately, one of our released fish didn’t fare to well and soon was floating belly up near the ferry boat. A Heron made a heroic effort to hoist the big fish from the waters, but the two pound fish was too much and he retired back to his front row seat on shore.

Although there is always going to be a certain amount of attrition, even when you are catching and releasing fish, I think the Disney folks would just as soon their bass went belly up away from the gates to Fantasyland, and we soon had a radio call from Holly’s boss telling us to move from the docks-because it was too windy.

Seemed odd since there was only the faintest of breezes in the air.

We still felt bad, and certainly didn’t want to be responsible for kids being permanently scarred for life, so we moved.

Not that Disney does anything to ever permanently scar kids!!??

It was just as well, because by now my wife was using her unfair estrogen advantage to outfish me two to one, which was even noticed by the ferry boat- line operator, who made it a point to walk over to our boat and tell us of his keen observation.

Darn estrogen.

By the time we motored our way back into Bay lake our “two hour cruise” was pretty much at an end. Of course there was still the matter of settling up on the bill, and receiving a nice complimentary subscription to a bass fishing magazine—which of course happens to be owned by Disney…..

As we left the boat and headed back into the perfect world of magical princesses, long lines, and the ever present gift shops, I couldn’t help but think that I had just got off the best ride at Disney World.

Well-except for the Mad Tea Cups….

The Humminbird Matrix 20 Helps You Find Your Favorite Fishing Hotspot

Filed under: Fish + Angle — admin @ 1:11 am

Imagine yourself getting out on the lake, the river or even onto the saltwater and taking along your Humminbird Matrix 20. You will easily find out where you are when you plug into the GPS guide. It will help you find your favorite hotspot. Then, you can use the sonar to give you a great picture of what’s down below the surface. You see your fish. You know where it is and where it is heading. You can land your line right where it is and within minutes be reeling him in. If you didn’t have the Matrix 20, you would still be trying to find that hotspot!

The Matrix 20 is a great fishfinder because it is portable. It is easily moved from one location to the next making it easy for you to fish no matter where you are. Besides this feature, the Humminbird Matrix 20 offers several other features. Let’s take a closer look at how and why this fish finder will help you see clearly where your fish are hiding.

First off, the Matrix 20 uses a single beam, 24 inch sonar. It is capable of going down 800 feet. That’s 800 feet of clear viewing for you. You’ll know what’s floating down there, where it is, and then you’ll be able to plan your course of action.

You will also find that the Matrix 20 is GPS ready. You can connect your hand held GPS to it and benefit from the easy reading ability that the Matrix 20 offers.

It also features a water temperature gauge. This is helpful if you know your fish. Some fish prefer certain temps to swim in. If you are not in warm or cold enough water, they are likely not to be either.

You don’t need to worry about the Matrix 20 getting wet out there because it is waterproof and you’ll not need to worry about it falling. It is impact resistant. This is great especially when the boat gets a little too rocky!

Fill your cooler with fish when using the Matrix 20!
